I reserved a truck a month in advance and then followed up regularly until the day I had it reserved. I received a call from someone telling me where the truck would be, at a different location, and at what time it would be there. They even texted me with instructions. I showed up at the agreed time and the store was closed. I looked up the hours: closed for another hour. I called the first place where I reserved originally and the kid who answered the phone blamed the whole ordeal on "Corporate," that "Corporate" finalizes and communicates with customers after the reservation and "Corporate" doesn't know when anyone opens. Back to the closed store, luckily a worker shows up early and opens the store so I don't spend too much time waiting for them to open. I get inside and start the process to get the truck and another customer shows up. There's only one truck. "Corporate" double booked the same truck so this customer could get it a little earlier. To my relief and extreme gratitude, the customer let me take the truck because his original booking was later anyways. In the end, the good Customer Service was from the customer, not the service.
