My dog passed away after a spay surgery here. I was told after her death that when Dr. Manning opened her tummy up she had inflamed lymph nodes and abdomen, but still he went and did her surgery without notifying me of this problem. This vet is not trustworthy and if you want your animal safe I would suggest going to a different vet. This happened to not only my poor dog, but another one in my neighborhood this year! I so wish I could go back and have never brought my sweet girl here. Protect your animals and do not trust this place. I don't wish anyone to hurt like I am and I am sorry to my dog who died because I trusted this place.

Told me I cant walk/spend time with any animals unless I am going to buy one. First off how would I know if I want to buy an animal before spending time with them? Second off, these animals are lonely and sad, and they should be granted any attention and love they can get!!

Always a good experience here. Sully loves coming to this dog park. If you go after 5, there are a ton of dogs for your dog to play with!

About a month ago, a close friend adopted a German shepherd who was said to be in good health, and up to date on her immunizations as well as be free of worms. Within a week we discovered that she still had living worms and was sick. We took her in, assuming it was just the worms making her sick, they gave her another work shot and we left. A few days later she had accidents in her bedroom (she's house trained.) and started vomiting uncontrollably and wouldn't move and was even crying now. We rushed her to the animal ER in Layton where is was discovered she had a stomach infection and wasn't going to live much longer. We didn't trust the surgeons abilities fully and waited until morning to take her to a vet who we were more confident in. He performed surgery and luckily saved her life. He said that if she had not been brought in right when she would not have made it, and that the infection came from her spaying, which on record occurred at the humane society. And then a few days later we found out she still had living adult worms! Which take a month to show up! And now Cache Humane Society is refusing to take responsibility for what happened and will not pay for the surgery for the sickness that was THEIR FAULT. I try my best to support them because they are a no kill shelter, but if you can't use clean equipment to keep the dogs (and probably cats) from getting sick (as well as their poor kennel sanitation.), and dogs die because of it, and you aren't taking responsibility for it, then you aren't a no kill shelter. Luckily our dog pulled through and now I want to adopt all the animals there just to save them from this bullshit.

I do think this policy stinks but now with working with Cache as a foster I think they are awesome in EVERY OTHER WAY.

I adopted my cat a few months ago from the humane society and I absolutely love him. Unfortunately due to their lack of organization I was told that he had FIV (for those of you who do not know FIV is the feline version of AIDS). Well when I went to the vet that his previous owner went too I found out that he was tested for FIV but the test result was negative. The only advice I’d give to the Humane Society is to make sure you have all the paperwork for the animals organized. And if you suspect that an animal has something test to make sure rather than assume that the animal has it and basically make that animal “unadoptable”.
