Do NOT rent from these people! We went 1 month without a refrigerator because it was non-repairable and they would not put a new one in! We then went a month without AC from mid june till mid july! They do no upkeep on the property, and we had water flowing through our ceiling from our upstairs neighbors at least 4 times. The complex is in disrepair and littered with addicts and their trash. Plus dont plan on getting a deposit back because they will take it to to the upkeep that they should have done while you were living there. Slumlords is the best way to describe this bunch! Evaluate all other options before renting from these crooks!
My lease is up in May and I can't wait. I have been trying to get them to fix the extensive water damage from the tenants above me for months. They finally sent someone to cut out the moldy, nastiest part of the stain above my shower 9 days ago, exposing the absolutely nasty scene above and have done nothing since. I can hear everything my neighbors do above me ( absolutely no sound proofing whatsoever). They are, to put it bluntly, the definition of a slumlord. And if you are a few days late on rent and forget to tell them, they WILL take care of that for you by sending out somebody to hang a "pay or vacate" notice. Which they charged me an additional 25 bucks for. Do not rent from them. Your interests and concerns are not their interests and concerns
I have some horrible customer service stories of my own, including them saying that they are going to come and fix things and then not doing it for weeks, even after they said they would and us calling them numerous times. Heed all warnings of the other reviewers. The negative experiences and reviews from other tenants are all true and apparently not uncommon at all.
Awful experience with real estate agents here! Our rental company didn't bother to tell us they were selling our house when we randomly got a call from an agent wanting to have people come see our house a few hours later. They seemed upset that I declined and wanted 24 hours notice (renters rights). The whole thing was a joke they all seemed to be on a different pages and were very unwilling to work with our schedules. It didn't matter that people were coming into our house while we were still renting, it only mattered if it was good for the buyer. The worst part was when we scheduled our moving out inspection. Apparently, the real estate agent decided to take it upon herself to cancel the appoint we had made and schedule it for an earlier time. She didn't bother to tell us, I left work early sat and waited and finally had the call the inspector to find out that it had already been done. Avoid them if you can, they will just give you a big headache.
The reasons: First and foremost, they dont give a crap about their renters. When I first moved in it was winter and the heat was not working. At all. The first night spent freezing in front of the fireplace. The rug was disgusting (i.e. not changed for probably the last 3 renters) and there was still holes in the walls from previous tenants. There were no working fire detectors. Not working as in won't even turn on when a battery was installed. There were no fire extinguishers in the house so I had to go buy 2, one for upstairs and downstairs and a few detectors. The front desk lady of CB never returned calls or emails, claiming she never got any even though I would use the exact email I was given. Service requests were slow to be responded to (if they responded at all). They never inspected the place the whole time I was there which would have been fine except the was 3 gas leaks- one in each of the water heaters and the boiler. Not okay. I'll stop with that, you get the idea. Worst management company I have ever rented from in my 10 years of renting- and this includes a couple college student apartment housing.
The gist: I STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT RENT WITH THEM. If you're still considering it, please, use a different company in town. If I owned the Coldwell Banker name I would be ashamed that this place used it. I will never again give Coldwell Banker my business in any location as long as I live.
